The tide goes through a full cycle every 12 hours, more or less, making a total of two low tides and two high tides every 24 hours. There is about 4 metres difference between the low and high tides, when there is a full moon and 1.5 metres when there is a new moon
Exceptionally beautiful small beach, situated at the end of a long, narrow canyon, covered with white sand, accessible by car and on foot. It disappears at high tide.
It is called the Beach of the Sea Caves, due to the carstic cavities typical of the area. Located close to Nueva, accessible by car and equipped with toilets.
Wild beach near Picones village is separted from the beach of Cuevas del mar by San Antonio point. The beach is 70 m. long, Shaped as a half circle, it has quite waters, pedestrian access and no facilities.
This is probably the most surprising part of the Asturian coast, declared a natural monument. Shaped as a half circle separated from the sea by the shelvings, it is a place where one can bathe without seeing the sea.
This is the biggest beach in the borough. It is almost completely straight and measures about 1,200 metres in length and 62 metres in width. It is located at the mouth of the river Bedón, next to the little village of San Antolín.
This is one of the most beautiful beaches along the Llaniscan coast. It has been popular since the 1960s because it is also a nudist beach. Access to the beach is via the village of Niembro, along the asphalted path towards the hill at the top of the Cape of Prieto.
