The Craft Centre at Po

Art and craft forms a part of the traditional culture of the area and has always complemented what could be made at home. These traditional skills and the use of local materials are being rediscovered. In addition, traditional techniques use very little energy and are very environmentally friendly as well as complementing the local economic activities such as tourism, fishing and cattle farming.
The traditional workshops have been created at a time when there is a new emphasis on trades, innovation and design incorporating both the traditionally used materials as well as new ones. The craftsman produces items which are original, personal, individual rather than one of a series, his craftsmanship helps preserve centuries old traditions and therefore our cultural heritage.
The Arts and Crafts Centre in Poo is placed at the disposal of craftsmen, artists and designers from the east of Asturias as well as the rest of the Principality. The centre’s objective is to help the development and creation of new small businesses in the world of arts and crafts, thus augmenting the business network of the borough and supporting those aspects of the tourist industry which are already developed. This in turn creates interest in our rural communities and ways, promoting and preserving our artistic and cultural heritage.

Offices: From Monday to Thursday from 9 to 14 and from 16 to 19 h. Friday from 8 to 15 h.

It's located in Poo, 1,5 Km. from Llanes village and it's closed to Train and Bus Stop and near N-634 Road.
